9 days safari and culture

After early breakfast Depart Arusha at 08.30 am for a 30 minute drive to Arusha National Park. Here you will participate in a half day walking safari and a half-day game drive. You will be accompanied by an armed ranger for the walk who will guide you through the forest up to the waterfall and the point for viewing the black and white colobus monkeys. During the game drive you will see the 7 Lakes of Momella and the Ngurduto Crater. At sunset, you will return to camp.

After early breakfast leave the camp at 08:00 am and drive for about 2 hours to Tarangire National Park. This park is often referred to as the “home of elephants”. You have a great chance to spot elephants in large groups gathering around the Tarangire River. Other animals to be spotted include leopards, lions, giraffes, and even tree climbing pythons, Dinner and overnight will be at the lodge/camp.

Have an early breakfast at 6.00 am followed by a game viewing drive en route to Serengeti National Park. Serengeti is the largest and most famous park in Tanzania, known worldwide for its endless plains, wildebeest-migration, herds of lions, and other predators like hyenas, cheetahs, and leopards. Crocodiles can be found in the Grumeti River, as well as hippos, giraffes, antelopes, and gazelles.

Take a short break for lunc then proceed with afternoon game drive till late in the evening. Dinner and overnight will be in the heart of Serengeti at the campsite.

Spend a full day game drive in Serengeti. This is your chance to see predators chasing their prey and enjoy their kill. Serengeti is undoubtedly the best-known wildlife sanctuary in the world, unequalled for its natural beauty and scientific value. Your game drive in the endless plains of the Serengeti will also give you the chance to see the great herds of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles or a pride of lions lounging in the shade. Dinner and overnight will be at the camp.

After breakfast, go for a morning game drive in Serengeti National Park with a picnic lunch. Later depart for the Ngorongoro Crater Rim via pre historic site at Olduvai George. Enjoy a short stop at Olduvai Gorge; the famous archaeological site where the Leakey’s discovered remains of Australopithecus Homo habilis and Homo erectus. It has the amazing landscape that resulted from the tectonic forces, which created the Great Rift Valley million of years ago. Dinner and overnight will be at the rim of the crater at the campsite.

In the morning after breakfast, descend into the crater for a full day game viewing in the Ngorongoro Crater. There is a very high possibility of spotting the big 5 in one day: the big five being lion, rhino, elephant, buffalo, and leopard. Lunch will take place at the picnic site at the crater floor. In the afternoon, drive to Lake Eyasi for dinner and overnight at camp.

In the early morning after breakfast, go out hunting with Hadzabe tribe (Bushmen). The Hadzabe foragers live in the area of Lake Eyasi. They are among the greatest attractions in the Northern Circuit, due to their primitive but exciting lifestyle. They wear animal skins, hunt and eat monkeys, and have kept their traditions with minimal influence from the outside world. These tours allow you to experience the culture of the real Bushmen. Later in the afternoon, drive to the top of the Great Rift Valley for overnight with a view to Lake Manyara at the campsite.

Today you have a full day in Lake Manyara National Park, famous for its green scenery, varied bird life, tree-climbing lions, hippos, and baboons. The Lake occupies a large area of the park; the forest begins just when you cross the park gate along the base of the Great Rift Valley and hot spring to the west of the park. Dinner and overnight will be at the campsite.

After breakfast, go for a short culture tour at Mto wa Mbu village and drive back to Arusha, where you will arrive in the early afternoon and be dropped off at the hotel or airport.
